NARRATIVE
Breckner was the subject of an attempt to locate from the Cody Police Department at approximately 7:00 a.m. on November 17th. During the investigation by the Cody Police Department it became known that Breckner had left her two young children with a baby sitter and the babysitter had not had any contact with her since late Saturday night.
It was reported to the Cody Police that Breckner was going to Billings, Montana late Saturday evening to rendezvous with a friend there. Breckner was last seen at a local store in Cody around 2:45 a.m. on Monday asking for driving directions to Billings.
The Cody Police Department requested assistance from the Park County Search and Rescue to assist in searching along highway WYO 120 between Cody and the Montana border.
At approximately 1:30 p.m. members of the Park County Search and Rescue located Breckner’s crashed vehicle approximately 1¼ mile south of the Wyoming/Montana border off of WYO 120.
The Wyoming Highway Patrol was notified of the crash and Troopers began a crash investigation. It appears, for reasons unknown, that Breckner’s vehicle crossed the center line and her vehicle left the roadway on the west side where she then struck a delineator post. She then over corrected her steering to the left which caused the vehicle to go into a broadside slide. The vehicle then rolled down an embankment at least twice before coming to rest in an area not clearly visible from the roadway. The vehicle caught fire and was totally consumed in the ensuing blaze. During the rollover, Breckner was totally ejected from the vehicle. Troopers have estimated the time of the crash from driving time from when she was last seen asking for driving directions in Cody to the crash location.
During the crash investigation Troopers discovered that Breckner was wanted on an outstanding felony arrest warrant by the Lamb County Sheriff’s Department in Littlefield, Texas, for probation violation.
